OUR STORY

Founded in August 2024, The Rural Vet Mob is a not-for-profit registered charity dedicated to enhancing the welfare of animals in remote Indigenous communities.

Our mission is rooted in a deep commitment to bridging the gap in veterinary care for communities often underserved. We offer culturally respectful veterinary services and educational programs designed to empower and support these communities.

By providing essential care and valuable knowledge, we aim to foster healthier, happier lives for animals in rural communities. The Rural Vet Mob reflects our belief that access to quality veterinary care is a fundamental right for animals, and we are dedicated to making this a reality for those in need

Our Story
Bindee Davis - at the very heart of our story

The Rural Vet Mob is more than just a veterinary service—it’s a calling born from the heart.

For Bindee Davis, it all started with a deep love for animals and a burning desire to give back to the communities that shaped her. Growing up in Darwin, Bindee always felt a pull toward the vast landscapes of rural and remote Australia. As a Veterinary Nurse, she spent years working in clinics, from general practices to emergency rooms, but something was missing. Every day she worked within those four walls, she felt a part of herself was being stifled.

It wasn’t until she had the chance to step out of the clinic and into the remote communities, out on country, that everything clicked into place. Being there—among the people, the land, and the animals—lit a fire in her that she didn’t know she had been missing. "This is my passion, my jam," she says. "I’m at my happiest when I’m out there, doing what I do best."

Each time Bindee visited these communities, it reaffirmed what she already knew deep down, her true calling was in providing veterinary care where it was most needed, far beyond the city limits. The joy she found in connecting with communities, listening to their stories, and offering veterinary care to animals in need, inspired her to take a leap of faith. She decided it was time to take this passion and build something on her own.

With the unwavering support of her good friends, Bindee founded The Rural Vet Mob Inc. It wasn’t just about setting up a not for profit service — it was about creating a space led by an Indigenous voice, honoring the connection to country and the wisdom passed down through over 60,000 years of stories. For Bindee, this isn’t just work, it’s her life’s purpose, a way to live her passion every single day and give back to the communities she holds close to her heart.

The Rural Vet Mob, founded in August 2024 is a reflection of that passion, offering culturally respectful veterinary services and educational programs to empower Indigenous communities. Bindee’s story is one of love, dedication, and a belief that healthy animals lead to happier, stronger communities.
